6. About AI-generated content

Important — read this carefully

ShikshaPal uses artificial intelligence to generate explanations, examples, and answers. AI can be confidently wrong. It can give factually incorrect answers, miss steps in a calculation, misquote a textbook, or produce content that does not match your school's syllabus exactly.

Always verify important information against your NCERT textbook, your teacher, or another trusted source — especially before exams, assignments, or any decision that matters.

The Service is an aid to learning, not a substitute for it. ShikshaPal does not provide medical, legal, financial, psychological, or career advice. Any information of that kind that the AI produces should not be relied upon, and you should consult a qualified professional for such matters.

You are responsible for how you use the AI's output. We do not guarantee that the output is accurate, complete, suitable for your particular purpose, or appropriate for your school's curriculum.

7. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party components and services, including AI models hosted on Hugging Face. The use of those components is subject to their respective licences and terms. ShikshaPal is not responsible for third-party services, but we choose them carefully and link to their terms where applicable.

The AI models bundled with or downloaded for use in ShikshaPal are open-source models (such as those in the Qwen, Phi, and Gemma families) released under their own licences. Your use of those models is subject to those licences.

8. Donations

ShikshaPal is free to use. You may, if you wish, make a voluntary donation to support development. Donations:

9. Intellectual property

The ShikshaPal name, logo, brand, and the original parts of the application that we have written are owned by ShikshaPal. You may not use our brand without our written permission.

Open-source components included in the application remain the property of their respective authors and are licensed under their own terms. A list of major open-source components and their licences is available on request.

NCERT textbook content remains the property of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). ShikshaPal aligns its tutoring to the NCERT curriculum but does not claim ownership of NCERT material and is not affiliated with or endorsed by NCERT.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, harmed other users, or used the Service in a way that creates legal risk for us. Where reasonable, we will tell you why.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law — will continue to apply.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation.

We do not warrant that the Service will be free from errors, that the AI's output will be correct, or that downloads will always succeed. We do not warrant that the Service will meet the syllabus requirements of any specific school, board, or examination.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShikshaPal and its directors, employees, and contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, academic outcomes, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed ₹1,000 (one thousand Indian Rupees) or the total amount of donations you have voluntarily made to us in the twelve months before the claim arose, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ShikshaPal and its team from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect, and we will update the "Last updated" date above. If you do not agree with the change, you may stop using the Service and delete your account before the change takes effect.
